I thought the Designer Pages did an amazing job last night. The showroom was packed with amazing energy and tons of people. The speakers, like always, shared a great deal of knowledge along with cool new projects they were working on. I enjoyed myself.

Thanks Becca once again. You do great work. I love the mix of interesting presenters and drinks and smart people. What more could I ask for (perhaps better sightlines to the screen). I look forward to these events. Thanks to you and DP.

The sound and mike system needed work , speakers not so audible . But, the roster + program quite good ...nice choice of speakers and venue ! The B + B space terrific for such events.

The introductory speakers should have kept it short and sweet. Something was wrong with the sound system, so most of the speakers' words were lost to people standing in the middle and back of the room. I think that it would have been much more engaging if the main speakers started at 7pm sharp. I left at close to 8pm, having been there since 6:30, without any of the main speakers starting....way too long for me!!! Or, skip the speakers and just let people mingle and meet each other. It was a terrific turn out...

Space and food were fine (from what I could see, though most of the food was eaten by 6:45 when I had arrived). However, guest speakers overall had no concept of the scale of their audience (over 200+!!!). Instead, they spoke as if they were talking to a very small gathering, while ignoring the rest. Several of them chose to block the screens showing their work and present away from the audience toward the wall to the left of the screen(?!). All of them, including the IDNY rep, were for the most part unintelligible, which could have been corrected through projecting their voices and holding the microphone closer to them. Repeated amplification feedback was yet another issue throughout the presentations. The presentations need to be screened beforehand so as to ensure that they are engaging, intelligible and can segue smoothly from one to the next.

The speaker from Gwatmey + Siegel could not be heard from the rear area even when it was quiet. He held the microphone where it did not magnify his voice which was way too soft to begin with. The bit of work from that office that I saw in the presentation did not evoke much emotions. The work was very cerebral and predictable. The other furniture presentation, though witty, I wasn't feeling anything new and special about the works from the Bushwick studio. I was excited given that I am also working out of Bushwick. I do appreciate the movement of the group though. Thanks-

I came and left 7 minutes later. Unfortunately, I couldn't hear or see the speakers. Too many people for that venue to handle (I guess on the upside, it was a great turn out! :) Too bad the area chosen couldn't accommodate them all.

It was my first Meetup. It was great and it is very grass roots where it's happening! Thanks to all for putting it together.

The sound system was bad - could'nt hear in the back. Left early with others.

It was a very informative evening. We learned allot about the design thought in the developing of the W Hotel from Greg Karn. Daniel Moyer was very entertaining with his presentation, and his designs are very clever, and seem to be easy to assemble. And I would like to thank everyone involved with these meetings, bringing the design community together. And also thank you and B&B Ilalia for the plate that I won in the raffle.
